Yes and my surgery charged me around £23.Have any of the members living in Norfolk renewed FAC lately? Were you required to pay for and supply a doctor's report?
How long has your ticket been in. ive got mine in for variation currently, think the turn round time is a bit slow.
I renewed mine last year and didnt have to pay the Doctors
No. My renewal isn't for a while yet, but I'm thinking of writing to my MP, setting out why I think it's wrong that we are being charged, so I wanted to check that Norfolk are actually insisting on a report before I put finger to keyboard.Have you been asked to?
£23 you lucky bugger just done mine £89 ouch bsYes and my surgery charged me around £23.
It appears some surgery's are charging far too much at times, some merely a token amount. There should be a fixed reasonable amount that surgeries can charge to confirm they have no issues with their patients ability to own/use firearms. I suppose BASC members already have this to hand, as BASC have been so pro active from the start of this fiasco., this can only become a bigger problem for all shooters/gun owners. The above two charges of £23 and £89 for a shows how some surgeries are charging far too much money to say their patients are NORMAL and not a threat by owning and using a firearm for recreational, or in the course of their duties as keepers etc. I'm not a member of BASC, HAVE ANY FORUM MEMBERS WHOM ARE any imfo on what BASC are doing to ensure their members rights, to own and use firearms. deerwarden£23 you lucky bugger just done mine £89 ouch bs
I submitted my renewal in July 2019. The surgery wouldn't send the letter until I had paid them which was fair enough. I actually believe that doctors should be paid as it isn't work they are contracted to do. I wouldn't want to do any work for which I wasn't getting paid. However the amount they charge is an issue. £20 - £30 is fine IMHO. Expect a wait for Norfolk Constabulary to deal with any application. How long has your ticket been in. ive got mine in for variation currently, think the turn round time is a bit slow.
