Oddest mercy killing of the year award

Spotted a fallow buck last year with a large growth hanging from it's rear end, but never had chance to get to it and was hoping it had died upon the hill.

Caught up with it eventually this year after it was causing serious problems breaking fences with the growth dangling under as it crossed.

Attached some photos. It appears the be the penis erupted into a massive tumour. It's lived like this for at least 2 years.

The mass looked to be damp with urine and his testicles looked to be intact.

Anyone ever seen this before?

Glad you managed to get him 👍

I dealt with a welfare call on horse like this once, owners got a vet out , vet amputated the penis but horse died anyway.

If this was seen out of season would you still be allowed to shoot it?
Yes, any visibly diseased or injured deer can be shot out of season (per UK and Irish legislation). Not enjoyable but your duty as a stalker for the pleasant mornings and evenings of sport in season.
