Opinion on Freyr & Devik UTS 3D Moderators

I had a well documented F&D moderator failure a couple of years ago with thankfully no injuries. The response from Freyr & Devik was immediate and supportive followed up by the issuing of the then new Ultimate Silence 3D moderator and its since been regularly used on 6.5 R8/K95 with absolutely no issues. Accidents do happen and I’d have no issue in purchasing another F&D product.
 
Can't comment on your specific question but I have used a F&D 196 for about 5 years with no issues. I have another rifle with an SL5i and is so much heavier and much more poorly balanced

Exactly the same. I had gas-cutting in my F&D FW196 (use the search function here it's not bad) and F&D offered a discount on a UTS231 which I took and I've been using ever since on 2 x .308s. As it's not disassemblable, and I don't own a borescope, I don't know what's going on in there but so far all is good and I too am a satisfied customer. I also have a F&D FW149 which is superb (.243 and stalking .270).

I do also have an Oceania Defence Alpine Hunter in 7.62 and that's VERY nice too!

I use Napier Silensave after pulling through the moderators after use (AFTER drying). We'll see how I get on long-term.

Yeah quite fancied an Oceania Defence but after speaking to them their new version is now only 5/8x24 thread and they don't make adapter inserts - so they suggested I commission a titanium adapter myself :rolleyes:
 
I have the lightest ultimate silence on my 6.5x55 fired about 2000 rounds through and I can’t fault it light quiet and seems robust. I’ve had 2 older f&ds and can’t really fault those either but I’d say the uts is the best. I’ve also had Lawrence precision and Oceania defence mods and I’d say the F&D suits me best. Lawrence precision too long and noisy and Oceania defence also longer than f@d and not specific to 6.5 (30cal) which I’m not a fan of.

Hi, I have the 231 UTS and the 300FM UTS.
They are produced using 3D printed grade 5 Titanium baffles. They are excellent suppressors and the 231 has had close on 1000 rounds through it with no issues whatsoever.

Highly recommended.

I ordered the last 1/14 from them a couple of weeks ago. The chap gave me the impression the stalking market wasn't something that featured in his business plan. Shame as Kiwi's seem very keen on the product.

He missed out on a sale from me coz he didn't offer my size thread.
 
I’ve got one and its predecessor can’t fault the new one but the old one has the be cleaned properly
