Out last night.

I beg to differ on that SD - i have watched a fox walk through a wood - and the pheasants calls are just in advance of it - awesome to watch and hear
Not had it once or twice happen but at least 50 / 60 times mate
In that case I'm crawling with fox, every pheasant in a square mile and beyond kicked off!
Pheasants on roost if they can see a fox via moon or snow will ignore it. It's not a threat.
I've shot many a fox at night near to roosting pheasants, none of them as much as farted!

If a fox puts them up into a tree in the daytime there will be a ruckus but they eventually shut up and wait for it to pass .

Got set up last night playing mating calls and cub calls when a fox showed up in next field over and hung up around 270 yds away.

Switched off caller and waited and fox just sat there so changed to hare distress which had it come through the hedge and starting to do a loop to come in on the wind.

Following it in scope it paused , just as I squeezed off it moved forward and I hit in back end 😡quick second shot and it was dispatched.

Dog fox @ 108 yds...

Tried another couple of places but nothing about , icy roads and grass frost.

i would imagine we have a few more pheasants and hence pairs of eyes maybe mate ?

The only think for me better than the pheasants as an early warning call is the moorhens - and they really are rather reliable - one sets off on each pond as the fox comes towards the bait - not always but most ( half) the time

Saw a fox the other night when nearly back in the farm yard. It was two fields away and not heading in my direction. A few presses on the mouse squeeker in my top pocket and eventually I saw one briefly pass along the bottom of the field i was in. Repositioned to a gateway in the top of that field to see into the next one, but never saw it again. I called again and saw a large dog fox travelling along the same path, following his vixen, no doubt.
6.5 stopped play for him. Overkill maybe, but i wasn't primarily foxing. Lucky as the mist had dropped in and whilst my thermal spotter had no issue with the damp, the Alpex 4K was struggling.

A slow start to the year for me with the weather and work getting in the way of shooting.

Back from a trip to Suffolk with work yesterday so decided to head out at home and have a look. Bit of calling around 19.00 brought nothing in but I decided to wait 5 mins before getting the caller and I spotted a fox in the bottom field so she met with a 120 Grain copper round in the chest from the mighty ManBun gun. I was half tempted to call it a night as I needed to make a start ...gave it 15 mins and went to pick her up. Got a quick pic then had a last check...fox in the neighbours field...got behind the rifle and it came through the hedge onto ours then pottered about behind the fence. I will generally never shoot through a fence especially when its mine  He popped through the fence and I gave him a quick shout to stop him and down he went about 90 yards.

So Nos 1 & 2

Ohh dunno, I don't really know what AI is/does!! Other than my phone seems to use it instead of Google now! I must be getting old!
Fake/spurious/not real :)

There are a few things that look "edited" so looks a little suspicious.

I saw one of a Coyote trying to take a cat and that was genuine CCTV footage...this one looks a bit weird ...

Was it filmed in Nottingham ... By a Welsh Farmer by any chance :lol:

A lovely vixen in heat.
I err dabbed her muff on the fringe of my coat. Vixen in heat beats Hugo Boss any time!
The one before was to the bait sight. I've been over feeding the rascal so backed off.
Noticed she came last night before 19:00.
So I was there early. She was bang on time.
In the video you see her trotting to the bait once she got wind of it, then you see her stop looking straight at me, she can smell me! The wind was all wrong but I was in a cattle stinking shed. It just gave me a few seconds as she wondered what to do!

So after black socks I had to change the battery on my spotter and put the battery in wrong and now it won't come on 😭
Game over...

you guys seem to get out late
i arrive at the farm on sunset (met office time) and by the time ive put bait on a couple of spikes
and got up a high seat the light is just going
i normally see my first fox anywhere within 10 minutes to 1/2 hour of getting there
last week i put bait (two partridge carcasses) on a spike at 4.00pm and when i went back to it at 6.30pm it had gone
sat up the high seat near too that spike put the caller on and had a fox come in within 5 minutes
i shot 4 and was back home by 9.30pm :)
Yeah, but you're in Essex, it's stuffed full of vermin, so you have an advantage over us average Joes.
You're what I'd call a lucky bleeder..
Did you ever know Dickie from Billericay?? He's doing very well.....
