Out last night.

i take a pic of all my foxes i shoot but only by themselves where they drop all with my phone
sod having a film crew with me my fox shooting is a very solitary thing
if i make a noise or a wrong move that's down to me, someone else there just adds to the possibility of spooking a fox
these past few weeks have been mental ive shot 4 two weeks before christmas then 3 the following week, then between christmas and the new year i shot 2 then 4 again last night so 13 in roughly a month 10 of which were dogs
Are these urban foxes ?

We've just gone amber weather warning and I have to drive to Warrington tonight, back Friday pm (or when conditions allow!). I'd really rather be here having a snow day on Friday with the kids!!

I think you might yet - if it comes half of whats forecast !

Are these urban foxes ?
half and half really most act like rural foxes
you can normally tell the drop offs
they either just sit and look at you at about 50-60yds or run like hell when you call to stop them with a OY
its a mates farm which is part of a three farm small game shoot, but we think there are dropping foxes off in the area
not what you want with partridges and other ground nesting birds of any sort

I'm not aware of any here having film crew...

Did not see a thing last night on four places.
Just one badger and frisky hares and rabbits, not many rabbits mind.
Should of saved my energy and gone stalking this morning!

Two Dogs, Dotty and Peggy Sue.
Back to two of my sheep farm perms last night, last visit was rushed due to work commitments and a blank.
The first is lambing this month, after a lot of back and forth between the small fields I dropped two
dogs and a vixen.

The vixen had no front left leg, tiny little stump that had healed over long ago. (Pic below)

Popped to another perm, no fox but watched old brock galloping about on an absolute mission. A contentious subject I know, but the end of the cull means bad times ahead for cattle farmers here.
Anyhoo off to the other sheep perm, dead ewe still out for me and hasn't really been pulled about much; however a brown lump settled on top of a little tump, far end of field, lifted his head at my lip squeek. Promptly dealt with, i was surprised to see a rather spotty coat on this old boy. Most evident on the right rear leg, but spots showing over most of him.

6.5 cm using up the last few SST's. These have always been great bullets for me, in my 8x57 they were hot medicine too. Just two left now.

The bait pipes had been visited so I decided to give one of them a try this evening. Pitched up and got ready about 7 pm. After 15 minutes a fox came into view but showed no interest in visiting the bait pipes. 🤔 a newcomer ? Then another appeared some 300 yards away walking along a track. It disappeared into a small wood.
Then a fox appeared and seemed intent on going to the bait pipes. It did ! But when I did a quick scan immediately after the shot another fox was hightailing it ! 4 foxes spotted in 50 minutes, I think I’ve had a drop off from some benevolent society 🤷‍♂️IMG_4883.webp
