Out last night.

Not last night but tonight and at a very civilised hour. This rascal stalked me along just the other side of a hedge so no shot, then it came in to the corner behind the fence so again no shot. Nice as you like it slipped through the fence and froze when I quacked at it (other yells are available) - it definitely had a Mayor of Hiroshima look on it’s face just before it went down at about 25 feet - hence the IR glare!
Likely the recent hens killer - one field away from hen runs…

As easy as that.... nicely played FB.

I went to check up on my deceased vixen only to find my boy hanging around.
It's like it was expecting me!
It slipped away through the sheep and into the timber.
I'm beginning to think it's one I missed but mistakenly thought I shot it later as it emerged from the same wood. Now I'm thinking I shot it's cousin!
That's four off this small patch in three weeks or so and at least one left.
They are being dropped I'm convinced.

Yep. They just keep coming - this farmer is big into sheep and the land only came my way early this year.
I have shot a lot of foxes on it and expect to shoot a lot more too.
Yet again the Axion Thermal and Pard 008p are a brilliant combination.

Nice video I must learn how to use my recording on my pard and to post on here.
had a big dog fox and a vixen tonight, called the vixen in first then what I thought was a rabbit heat sourse earlier turned out to be a fox, surprisingly after the shot it trotted directly towards us and my mate stopped it at 130 yards . Great night and so warm shame it strated to rain or I’d be still out there .

Learning how to do it is not that difficult - until real-time and the fox-inbound adrenalin kicks in, then you discover the Pard has way too many buttons and they are all in the wrong place. Ask me how I know?

yep same here i’ve got ( did have) the t ceptor external battery/ recorder turned out to be one step too far on my capabilities as a filum producer it had a very short life with me
i’m a turn it on focus to the shot and leave it on, it’s very very easy but for plain jane here tooooo much to think on at a crucial time 🤣🤣🤣 even if i did get some filming i wouldn’t have a clue how to transfer it 🥺🥺

Indeed so. It never ceases to amaze me how much utterly riveting footage I have of the sky, ground, inside of gun slip and jimny. Hours of endless fun reviewing it - just before binning it! Saying that every now and again the planets align and I do get some great footage.

One from earlier in the year - don't think I've done any more videos since. I'm usually too busy faffing with focus, IR level or trying to alternate between thermal and scope or banging the quad sticks together etc :rolleyes:

And yes, that's a high bank behind Mr Fox.

That’s what I find .
took my pal out stalking this morning, didn’t think we would see anything and after faffing around this morning we were late and I hadn’t seen any deer on my permission for ages. After no more than two minutes I spotted two roe just about to step in the wood , thankfully they watched us trying to get the quad sticks set up and load the rifle somehow we managed to get both!!😆

Shot a squirrel off the bird feeder in the garden yesterday afternoon then it started to pee it down with rain so left it where it was. Went to move it this morning and gone.

Checked the camera in the field next door and sure enough, another bloody 🦊 coming into bait station even though I’ve not been feeding.

Put my son to bed tonight then quick scan out the bedroom window with the thermal, bugger me. Charlie trotting across the lawn! ****ed off by time I got the rifle but it’s days are numbered (or mine are if it gets my wife’s chooks before I get it!).

had 5 in about 3 weeks in the same spot so far - this is number 6!

Snap…..I thought I’d try Smelly’s trick….go in Jim jams. Don’t wear ‘em to bed but do doss around the house in some sometimes, anyway at 18.30 I donned my Jim jams and went to put bait out, taking a rifle too.
5 min drive, scanned field from fence and nothing but horses.
Got the bait (Dog biscuits and tinned dog meat) and through the fence, rifle over shoulder.
Put bait out and another quick scan with thermal revealed a horse laying down in a corner, 200 metre walk to check and it lifted its head when I got near. Set off back to fence and got out, turned for a last scan and Charlie’s there 150 ish metres away.
By time i‘d swapped sitter for rifle he’s only 100 metres away sitting watching from just the other side of the bait. Zulus already on with ir on Auto. Bang flop but forgot to start recorder!
Total time from leaving home to getting back, less than an hour.
Cheers, Ken.

Where the picture of the Jim jams ken? Bloody hell....

You know that fox I said ran away while it's cousin was tucking into a dead ewe....and it was huge the other day?
Well here he is, a whopper.
I did my usual walk and didn't see a fox although Jess was smelling one in the usual spot at one point but I didn't see it. Nearing the car which is kind of behind the farm I couldn't believe what I was seeing!
The farmers son was busy mending a tractor in his workshop and a big fox was milling about the farm buildings! I wondered where the rabbits were!
Anyway I got a 100 yarder in its boiler room.
It trotted away 50 yards looking...well, pretty ill actually and so when it stopped I gave a pinch of hold and sent a second round which did flatten the bugger. Last shot paced off at 154 paces.

Bloody heavy as well!IMG_20231213_204538.webp

I did try (Round the back of the Shipon) but couldn’t get more than 3 seconds on my iPhone timer and then the flash failed to flash!
Have to be careful where I did take a pic as public road going past and people come into view without warning from behind the Hawthorne hedge.
Must remember to wear a coat as well if I do it again, was frosty last night.
Ken.

The courting couple I have been trying for of late, dispatched, watched at distance for 3 hours on neighbouring ground, started @ + 2 degrees, ended at 21:25 @ - 3 degrees, took 15 minutes to thaw out the motor to get off fields, both broadside 25-06, 75 grain V max, too much destruction for any pics to go on here.
That should ensure a slow backfill, & a quieter period for me, as they were the obvious "Owners" of the place.💥:fox:💥:fox:
