No substitute for skill says he……but takes 3 shots for one fox!Ducks and chickens being killed a few nights ago. Also , nearly all taken away the same night but surely a wee bit early for cubs with us ? Anyway, my shooting buddy and I are in situ on opposite sides of the small holding around 20.45 and within 10 minutes it came down the track , spotted his vehicle and set off at a canter . It dropped to his third shot around 160 yards with a 55 gr in the back of its neck .A decent sized dog Fox . No substitute for skill says he ! Nothing else doing so we had a cruise around a few likely spots , and sure enough I spotted one ambling along the heavy ploughing as we drove along the main road. 21.40 . We turned the pickup around further down and drove back past it a good distance , turned around again and pulled into one of the entrances to the field, engine off and waited. She didn’t take long to appear, a little squeak and at around 70 yards , the .243 said goodnight . Scruffy Vixen with a bit of mange . (3rd pic).
Out tonight with the 4K LRF on the rabbits.
Bagged 2 within 50 yards of stepping onto the ground and then another 3 within the next hour.
Wish I'd also taken the 17 Hornet with me as I seen 5 foxes too.
I just made a bait pipe, a little to fancy, I even deburred the cut outs..Just before 7, hardly dark in this part of the world. Bait pipes make the job so much easier.
Are you cooking them a full EnglishI just made a bait pipe, a little to fancy, I even deburred the cut outs..
Well we don't want them hurting themselves using it .......wait....., I even deburred the cut outs..

Looks very smart mate but, constructive criticism, I think that bottom slit looks bit big. Beauty of pipe is fox can smell and lick out tit bits. You don't want him grabbing mouthful & legging it. Just my opinion.I just made a bait pipe, a little to fancy, I even deburred the cut outs..
Certainly haven't had any complaints from the fox mate. How do you find 17 on fox?
Out to what distance mate?Certainly haven't had any complaints from the fox mate.

What mod have you on it?
What do you bait it with surely you cannot give up your bacon sarni for a foxes breakfast?I just made a bait pipe, a little to fancy, I even deburred the cut outs..
Use an external host like youtube or photobucket type site then post a link to the outside site.Went out last night had two, a vixen first she was just mutching about in the field came to the call (hand squeek) dropped on the spot. then a dog fox, saw him come relatively close by but would not squeek in. he went in a big ark about 1/2 a mile away, then came in. I think he was looking for the vixen then he came in to the squeek, dropped on the spot too.
I have the photos but it says file too big how do I upload them please anyone?
I admire anyone that can slot moving foxes.Hi Ken ,
That’s what I said but it was just banter . The fox was cantering away from him all the time !
