Out last night.

4 tonight, a bit claggy up on the family farm, that's 29 thus far.

Ditched the truck and walked the tops looking down into the valley. 3 vixens and a dog. Spied 3 others, 2 off in the distance... one shootable but as soon as he saw the IR flick on he was off... that'll be the f**ker I missed a fortnight ago then 🙄

Lambing begins in earnest this coming week... that's why I shoe horses for a living 😅

First for the .222 last night, dead on 9pm, A biggish Dog, scouting between the barren ewes ..... probably doing the earth deliveries.

Parked the trailer high seat up in it's ambush site back of the farm buildings, implement clip arrived while I was out, so good to use next time up.
Visiting the new ground tonight.

Me too SD - Another 17 accounted for round the feeders
Really pleased that the efforts of the last few years is showing a massive decreases this year in the rats and the foxes - few corvids about too - so all good !
On one small farm a stoat has been hitting them, done a good job. Hope I don't see the little bastard....

Blank again last night for me. Saw one though!! 😂 About 800yd away & on some important business the speed he was going, right through hedge into next door. Was mobile last night using quad stick - the fox basically walked right over where I'd been sat last week!! 🙄😵

Had a decent munty buck grazing no more than 40yd away from me, oblivious. Could hear him chewing!! 😅

Out with the 22 Hornet the other night, missed an absolute sitter at 120m. Rummaged in truck and dug out the 'frying pan of truth'
Shot landing high of poa, massively over corrected for a low hit; so pulled it back to pan central. A couple of nights later and checked the 6.5, two shots went right, so pulled it over to the centre. No idea why both were off zero.
Wish I could afford to retire, work getting in the way of shooting this month.1000011556.webp
