Out last night.

Common occurrence when using 75 vmax in 6 mm.
Have seen similar when a fox was shot with .204 varmagedions.
Forecast for this evening is heavy rain.Yesterday farmer who is lambing saw a fox at 4am in the yard so another one awaits a RDZ with a 40 vmax.

Rain be damned
Took a run round a couple of farms last night in the drizzle between the showers as rest of the week looks a write off
Had a few off each farm visited
Took these 2 dogs after calling them in behind a lambing shed

Good going there mate 👍 One of my farms has a 350 acre boating lake at the moment and has been flooded most of the last 6 weeks..not much point looking down there lol

Lucky to have lots of hill ground…even if they are resembling paddy fields at the moment!
One big costal permission is similar to yours
1000+ acres and well over 300 of it submerged

Bugger in eck!
You know that dog I missed 3 times a couple of weeks ago, well I missed him again tonight! That's 4 times now!
But not before sorting the vixen !
Storms arriving I'm off home...
Let me know what you think? Did I pluck hair again? He is limping! Has he a whacking bruise from a couple of weeks ago?

Seeing as it was dry last night I ventured out to look for the fox the farmer caught on camera. Nothing about at his end so popped next door . Spotted 4 roe couched so crept up on them as like to see how many future bucks are about , turns out it was a doe with 3 buck kids. Watched them for a while then noticed 2 foxes in the field behind from where I'd just come.
Tried calling but no joy so sneaked up on them but by now had moved onto a gorse bank. Lost sight of them and then they miraculously appeared behind me somehow.
Sneaked up on them again and managed to shoot a small dog fox.

I then headed off to another farm to try for a vixen out of a pair where I shot the dog a few weeks ago.

Circuit of the farm only seeing roe and started heading back when I spotted her sat out in the middle of a field next to a copse. Ranged at 165 yds but sight picture not the best. Took the shot and she ambled off , watched back on Alpex and wasn't sure if I'd grazed her. Anyhow I headed round the other side of the copse to see if I could see her and there she was in a sheep field some 400 yds away so I quickly made my way down through the farm buildings and once again sneaked up to her as she was now laid down in the middle of the field. I managed to get to 115 yds and bagged her this time.
On inspection the 1st shot was just a flesh wound so glad I caught up with her.

Well done mate. I was expecting to see Noah and his ark on the way to work this morning ...walking the dog was bad enough lol

Looks like you hit that with the first shot - looks like it dropped to the shot?

Yeah no...I shot the vixen first. It's the dog that escapes.
Ah, got you. I thought there were 2 running around after the first shot but it's just you re-positioning on the same fox (about 40 secs) not moving onto a second. I'd say you were unlucky there as vertical posts look inline with the eyes at the moment of shot but I'd have been going for the broadside chest not neck.

Out last night, down to the bottom of the first field and spotted a red lamp being waved about! Not willing to get involved as I didn’t have any idea who they were I just watched for about 20 minutes. They seemed to lack any field craft and were just randomly walking and shining the lamp as far as I could see. Never saw them run the dogs. Came away after that as I didn’t like the thought of firing a shot when they were wandering about. Drove through the village but didn’t see any unusual vehicles. Not been a successful start so far!
