Oversized low pressure floatation quad tyres

I know of a local contractor who had something similar to these on his quad. Jwheelz - a new bolt-on attachment for ATVs and UTVs

I have seen these "in the flesh" so to speak. Looks a good, simple idea, but whether they'll stand up to long term abuse I'm not sure.

You can't go much lower than that - and I'd be surprised if any oversized tyres would be permitted to run lower , in case they pop off the rim.

I had one quad shod with Swamp Fox tyres,from memory they were 11"`s wide and boy did they go through some soup at times.

I don't know if you saw this post jackfish from about 3-4 days ago, the knock ons are well worth a look at.
Remembered a run into the Wicklows with JL from Camolin, I took these pics as we got back to the trailer. Carried two blokes a 300 mag and a sika in the bag and she did it easy.
Perhaps a thought as they float across the shiit a lot better.

I was told u have to watch with the 4x4's as the is a maximum width so it's dosenae screw up the diff's
I wanted to put some big balloon tyres like were on my 2wd quad but was told that I couldn't
I think even with twins on a tractor the 2nd set of tyres are meant to be smaller so not in contact with ground until u get in some soft stuff
I've seen them extension things at the local quad dealership and they look ok, they reckon they're quite good, but u would need quite a wide trailer if u transport it to and from the site.

The quad was backed down the trailer ramps without the add ons.It was parked half way on the ramp,add ons clicked in and away we went.The owner is a man that is out there every week in the Wicklows hunting Sika for himself and for clients.
On return the reverse is done on the ramps.
They are a 'click fit' wheel and thus not a bolt on and probably took all of 4 minutes to add/remove
I didn't think Quads had 'Diffs'.
That's why you have to lean outwards on sharp turns, to let the inside tyres 'scuff'.

No, an ordinary quad bike doesn't. The rear wheels rotate at the same speed as each other, regardless. That's why, in order to turn sharply, you have to let the wheel on the inside of the turn spin.
UTVs may have diffs, I don't know.
A quad with solid rear axle has a spool, not a diff. It's just a crown wheel splined to the axle and a pinion from the driveshaft. Fronts are usually a diff, some with limited slip or locking.
