Paracord z sling

For a few years now I have used webbing with quick connect/disconnect webbing connectors.
This in general has worked fine and I posted my setup a few years ago on here.

However one issue is the clatter the dangling connector halves can make in a high seat when engaging the rifle as a deer is seen.

So a first iteration of simply using some paracord instead of the webbing and associated connectors.

So all that is needed apart from a normal rifle sling is some paracord and a little knowledge of knots.

I used one length of paracord tied to the pistol grip and along it's length is a loop which facilitates the tying of the z after it passes around the sling in front of and down from the shoulder.

Just to explain how it attaches with reference to the above photos:-
With the rifle shouldered, the left hand reaches down for the paracord and brings it across the chest and around the sling at the chosen point below the shoulder.
The working end then passes through the loop which is some distance from the end.
It then becomes the same as lashing a load and a simple loop type knot is done that can be undone just with pulling the end.

As long as the paracord is long enough then it is easy to adjust the tension before tying the " pull to release" knot.

If walking stalking then when the rifle needs deploying it is a simple matter of pulling the end of the cord to release the knot and putting the rifle into action.

Hopefully it willl assist someone struggling to keep a bipod laiden and moderated rifle from slipping backwards for little money and keep both hands free for holding sticks and scanning for quarry..
