Pard NV vs Sightline N450s

Well I ordered a Yukon N470S off Macleods who did a great price of £699. It arrived yesterday and I am really happy with the build quality, easy controls and excellent image quality. I got it mounted last night after checking I was happy with the unit in light and dark but have not yet been able to zero it. I could easily and clearly see 150-200m with the attached IR and this was extended significantly with extra IR from an old NM400 that I had. I deliberately tried to get it to white out and it was no worse than any other NV I have used. The image quality with the attached IR was not as good as the Drone but with the additional IR from the NM400 it was pretty damned close so that a side by side test would really be needed. All in all I am very impressed so far. The attached photo of the chimney pots is at 100m taken in daylight using an iPhone held up to the eyepiece so does not really do the image justice. Can’t wait to get it zeroed!! D9E281BB-A337-4E8F-A30A-27E7EB97CE14.jpeg

I dont think you’ll be disappointed I’m very pleased with mine, from 25 yds through to 250 yds I’ve found the 470 faultless from the 22 rimmy to the 243

Sorry to jump an old thread. Do you still have the n470s? How did you find it? I am about to pull the trigger on one 👍🏼

I love my PARD Nv007s and the ability to swap it between rifles but it does depend on your scope.
Maybe test it out at a shop or if you know someone nearby you could borrow one off ?

Yes I still have it and I am very happy with it. I don’t do a huge amount of night shooting but it hasn’t let me down. Picture quality is good and can be improved further with an IR torch
Just about to go down the same route - could do with occasional NV capability to knock over a few foxes so this thread has been really helpful - thank you :)

They’re great units at a fantastic price, but only hold one problem… I can’t get away with the side focus, tactile turrets, focus etc - too much faffing on (That’s just me personally). I used a sightron and pard007 last year for my foxing setup and couldn’t get away with the glass when using during the day and then found myself doing a little dance of fumbling around twisting dials and pressing buttons when I seen a fox at night lol! I have since went back to using my zeiss diavari classic and lamp with great success (point and shoot) but find NV a bonus for confirming ID at longer ranges before pulling the trigger.

(Added pic of my little zeiss last week, no lamp, just good glass at 10:27pm)

I ama big Pard fan both 007 and 008. The 7 goes on my .17 and 6.5 - it also went on the .222 until I bought the 008 dedicated to foxes. Since added the Axion spotter and has transformed foxing - spot them with the thermal, walk in to range, get set up on quads and shoot. They don’t even know you are there - quite often I wait and watch them mousing etc. - all adds to the experience. I went out Monday nite at 10:30 for an hour and came back at 4:15 - fantastic night - only saw one and shot it but watched and walked into several badger families, rabbits, hares and feeding woodcock, even watched bats! Get a Pard and if you can stretch to it a thermal - brilliant combo.
