Parker hale cleaning rods

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone knows were to get .204 cleaning brushes/jags to fit Parker hale cleaning rods. Looked all over the net and all the .204 cleaning gear is for the new rods with female ends. My Parker hale rods are male threaded ends that screws into brushes. Do I need to buy a newer style rod

Just buy an adapter……?

I’ve seen and got the .22 rod size but having typed this… I dunno if I’ve ever seen anything smaller… but then it depends on the size of your .204 bits.

I use a .17 Tipton rod on my .20Prac…if you go down this route buy the shortest rod you can get away with as trying to control the flex getting the patch started can result in a broken/kinked rod shaft. No need to ask how I know 🤣

👍

if you used a bore guide you wouldnt break or kink your rod, and its easier for your 1 inch patch to enter the bore, i know from experience as i have bent cleaning rods, but a bore guide makes life easier when cleaning your barrell, the main reason rods bend and kink on small bores is the size of the patches, to tight, so buy yourself a 40 -42 good quality 17 cleaning rod, eg a tipton a good 224 bore guide, and 1 inch patches and life gets easy a 17 rod and jag and 1 inch patches will clean your 204 barrell, dont forget your bore guide bs.

Pretty sure Pro Shot do a 20 calibre jag which fits the .177 calibre P-H rod.
EDIT- The Countryman of Derby website lists a .17 calibre one for such a rod- try that and just use a suitably large patch.

^what he said^ they don’t have to be PH. I can’t remember the name of the company that makes them but they have a blue and yellow card in the packaging.
