Parker Hale mod problem

Went to zero my son's nearly new CZ.22, it was spitting them in about a four inch string, tried two different types of ammo, Winchester and CCI, took the mod off and it shot 3/4 inch group at about 40 yards. It's got a parker hale mod which I thought were pretty reliable, had one on mine for years, anyone had the same problem if so is it a matter of taking it apart and carefully putting back using the guide supplied, any advice greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's been taken apart and reassembled with the baffles the wrong way around or mixed up?
Easy enough to check and sort out.
Had the exact same issue myself.

The rod has nothing to do with alignment and everything to do with ease of assembly.
Is it the alloy version? They can get bent easily!

Pull the bolt and look down the barrel. That'll give you a clue.

Unscrew the end cap and see how many baffles fall out? If non do or only a couple it needs a good clean. use a block of wood to shock the baffles out by impacting the mod tube on the block on the threaded end so as not to cause any damage. I clean the baffles on mine wearing a glove and using a brass bristle brush and clean each individual baffle, a shot gun brush would do to clean out the mod it self, do not forget to clean and replace the washers?

I stripped, cleaned and reassembled a PH mod recently. It was quite easy.
I was surprised by how much debris came out.

What is the thread like on the barrel?
Does it have a firm shoulder to tighten against?

Thanks everyone, I've found the rod that came with mine many years ago, have cleaned and re assembled, will check the shoulder, so fingers crossed , Cheers
