Passing on gun collection .

Interesting issue and hopefully there will be a decent length of time before the question becomes a reality!
I was in a similar position with my late Dad's shotguns, Mrs O isn't keen on me having firearms in the house so it was going to be one of my brothers who was going to get the relevant SGC and inherit said guns. This process would naturally be completed before the day of departure so a smooth transition could take place. Also make sure all of this is noted in the Will for probate purposes and have a current valuation of the guns/rifles. As my brother is working out of the country and is err.... a bit sluggish in getting his SGC sorted out, we decided that a local firearms dealer would kindly come and collect the guns, they are now in secure storage and a monthly fee is paid until a final decision is made as to their destination.
If a partner/potential partner did not agree with my chosen sport then she would go. Had enough issues with objections to nights seatrouting never mind shooting. Happily single and will stay as such. Women are not to be trusted

I was just interested to know if two people could own ? / have on there's certificates the same gun collection , and not having to give up my FAC if on another FAC .
Yes. I had my mother's rifle on my own FAC at age eighteen at the same time that she had it on her own FAC that she had held since she was seventeen in the late 1930s in her own right. I have friends who have their wife's shotgun on their SGC and it is quite a common thing. Remember the FAC or the SGC doesn't confer exclusive "title" or what might also be in everyday language said as "ownership" to the weapon...the law isn't concerned as such with that...it only confers a right to be in lawful possession of that weapon. You'll see therefore on an SGC the phrase in Table 2 "Sold, let on hire, given or lent". And Table 1 refers to "Shotguns possessed" and not the words "Shotguns owned".

This is true.

I am currently awaiting a couple, when they land, I can go out and purchase these rifles.

The plan is that they will live in a separate cabinet (one the family member does not have access to) until such time as my family member has their FAC/SGC renewed, at which point they will apply for those variations be added to their certificate.

Incidentally, I have also put a "ticket" on each firearm with the details of the firearm, the date it was purchased and the "actual" price I paid for each one - not the price I told MrsS62...🤫

Mrs O thankfully is a very patient and tolerant woman (most of the time....ahem..), the irony is that she enjoys a day on the hill stalking with me as much as anything and has been known to happily carry a net/bag/rod on many occasions without force/duress or promises of wealth and everlasting worship..... She just doesn't feel comfortable with firearms in the house - although she is mellowing slowly, the issues with my Dad's shotguns changed her views a little as she didn't want to see them disappear outwith the family......one day....one day....:tiphat:

My wife even though she hated guns when we meet years ago , if she came to my home i had to hide even an old airgun in the corner (30 years ago) before the PC mob pounce on me . ,But she has for many years now accepted them to the point i think she's glad it gets me out from under her feet lol . Guess she had to when we got married , but its give and take as a marriage should be . .

You are indeed correct when you state you will stay single.

We bought it at a "bargain" the year the Game Fair was cancelled.

It has proved its worth, and is nice to have everything in one place.

The chap who builds them (for a fee) turned up with his team when we moved house, dismantled it and then met us at our new home, ready to re-install the thing.

It also comes with a "buy back" offer, which will be useful for the family, when I shuffle off.
