5. Keep the .22LR or cabinet space?
I only want 4 rifles 5 max. As don't want a bigger safe. Any input on how to better this combo?
Get rid of the .22FAC and .22-250 for the .243 and .308?

I would not be without a 22lr. My choices are 222, 20Tac (not necessary but very effective) 6.5x55 and 270. This covers all quarry in this country.

Can’t help feeling that a 22lr, a 22 centrefire - probably .222 or .223 and a 7x57 or 7x64 is a pretty good all round combination.

But, and its a very big but, its much more down to the type of rifle / scope combination rather than calibre. So you might want a longer heavier barreled flat shooting cartridge for Fox work in say 204, but you might want a similar rifle in 300 lapua as a long range big deer rifle. But that would be pretty useless for driven type hunting.

Switch barrel for 243 and 308 is a good idea, maybe even add a 30-06 barrel incase you ever go overseas on boar.
.223 and .22lr in the mix too.

I slimmed down a few years ago, I had far to many guns 14 to be precise.

I had 2 ruger 10/22's

Marlin Cowboy in .357/38 nice but a pain to reload

Rossi Break action in .38/357 utter garbage

SMLE in .303

Enfield Enforcer (bitsa) in 7.62

Ruger 77 compact .223 with Ase Utra Mod

Ugarthecaya 12 bore horrible in every way

Winchester model 12 that was knackered but it sold for a bomb as it was originally from the armoury of the RMS the Carpathia

Mossberg 500 in .410 I gave up on 410 after it kept bouncing off stuff and stinging me in the shins

CZ452 scout and CZ452 Varmint the varmint was so inaccurate it made a Ruger look like a match rifle

Less is more, for me my CZ455 Anschutz 54 match and Lincoln 20 bore is enough. (for the time being)

Hopefully when I get my permission a .22k Hornet and eventually a .308 or .243 I remember an article a while ago about the 6.5 swede which claimed to be a great allrounder as you can create various loads from fox up to deer.
this tempts me as I like the idea of a "do all" centrefire.

.222, 7x64, 9.3x62 - cover Muntjac to Boar and adds Buffalo incase they get added to the rewilding list. Plus much more exotic sounding than .30-06, .308, .270 etc
I have .223 Rem, 7x64 and 9.3x62 and (one or 2 others) but that does cover a love of things you might want.

For 4 rifles:

.22 lr
.223 Rem
.25-06 (Fast and flat but will shoot a 100gr Non-tox bullet better than a .243W for Scotland - or if you want to be classy 257 Roberts).
.30-06 (Large deer, boar etc)

Scrummy

17HMR
22LR
Swap out the 243 & 308 for a 6.5x55SE as it will cover a wider range of bullet weights in one calibre & deal with fox to Reds.
Mild recoil to keep sight picture on target to
