Although the weather was absolutely terrible last night, wind and rain I decided with my stalking buddy to have a look in one of my woods.
Nothing was seen through the main woods, but we had a look in the rough dense woods next door.
I picked up a heat signature laying in among the dense fallen branches. We got on sticks just in case when we could identify it’s sex and we were ready to go.
What I couldn’t understand is why the head was showing so white hot compared to the rest of the body.
It eventually it stood up but its head was behind a tree and identification by other means was out, so we waited. A little shift in the wind and off it trotted annd in the failing light exposed this huge perruque head. In over 30 years stalking it’s my first one.
Unfortunately a shot never presented itself, but my focus the next few days is this animal.
