Picatiny or weaver

Hi everyone.
I've just bought a set of QD tier1 mounts for my new alpex, but they're extremely heavy compared to the recknagle QD mounts, but the reknagle QD mounts are suitable for both weaver and picatinny. Is this definitely the case..big price difference..?..... Cheers...
