Pies

I've recently been messing with pies made in a muffin tin. Dead easy, cut out circles of puff pastry just large enough to fill each mold, then add your filling of choice. Venison, in this case 😃 And cover with a puff pastry lid. Brush with egg, and then into an oven at 200C for 30 minutes and they're done.

They're just big enough for a decent snack, or a couple would be a decent helping for a meal.

They look good. Out of interest the venison you use as a filling. Do you prepare it in any way before going into the pie?

I should've said 😳 Yes, I brown it off first, then add onion, garlic, stock, and Worcestershire sauce. I simmer until tender, then add chopped mushrooms, and flour to thicken it. Its the same mix I use for my larger pies, but I diced the meat smaller in this case

Cheers. I will give it a try.

And all washed down with a fine beverage 😍
Nuclear Brown Ale ... my favourite.
Good looking pies.
Whilst discussing my hypertension with my doctor, she asked me about diet and family history etc.
“ Oh yes definitely, you see we all hail from Yorkshire and Cumberland so pies and ale are standard fare from weaning “

Nuclear from a can is ok but best enjoyed from a bottle and half pint glass💪

That's a good looking pie, and very handy timing - I've got a bowl full of stew dice in the fridge but was thinking what else I could do with it rather than the traditional casserole or curry

couple of pies is a good idea
