I know I may well come in for a little flack for my next question but genuinely interested in the answer as I don't know.

Was the EU a dire mess like it is now before all the ''trying very hard to be Pc'' poorer countries became members?

STILL UNDECIDED
Jimmy

The bureaucrats, intellectuals, civil servants/masters.... will probably vote to stay in the EU.

They cant be in a dire financial mess because according to the nice little pie chart on the back of my Tax Summary I paid them £47 last year along with every other tax payer in this country. I also paid £101 towards Foreign Aid most of which is now distributed from the Turkish border, across the Med into the Balkans, Scandinavia and Europe.

I also paid THIS GOVERMENT £390 towards the interest only repayments towards OUR National Debt..........and yet THE GOVERMENT wants to borrow even more cash to fund projects like HS2.

DEAR DEIDRE. I cant quite work this one out in my head.
They CUT EVERYONES LOCAL SERVICES and put then up YOUR council tax up to fund the shortfall to pay for local services, and their final salary pensions, because they haven't got enough cash in the kitty, and yet they want to borrow more money for other projects. e.g. HS2 when were already skint.

OUT. ****ing OUT

The national debt doesn't have much to do directly with the EU. Although I'm also puzzled as to how every country in the world can be in massive debt at the same time. I mean, where does the money that's being leant come from?

+1, but cyberspace could be the answer. This is why there will/might be a catastrophe when everything has to be paid back. Perhaps we are running out of room to increase the money supply by creating debt.

They just print more money , money has become worthless , the governments conspire with the banks to make it hard to have cash only system , it's all just digits in a server somwhere. It's huge global version of the South Sea Bubble.
:old:

Strange how the Labour Party were dead against joining the 'Common Market' until it became clear that it was Socialist experiment, just like the USSR, brought about by academics with dreams of bringing down the ruling/elite class.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue which way to go as I don't believe a word ANY politician says.?
Therefore can't see what's true what's not

Also
No matter which way we go , in or out I think there is nothing that's going to stop the slide down slithery slope into more depressing crap .

41yrs old and as cynical as hell , but over last few years politicians seem to do what they want , expenses scandals ( if was you or I jail would be the case)
Pay rises ! Award themselves crazy pay rises then say blatantly we need to cut back

Yet what do WE do about it? ....nothing shake our heads and carry on letting them

They forget WE put them there for US
They work for us !

Not that you would notice .....

Paul

To cap it all Barac Obama is coming to the UK to preach to us why we should be staying in the EU!
