post a pic of your rifle

Sounds like he has been to a few politicans parties, prozac and beavers. Through in a whip some leather and you got an interesting movie to boot

Prozac,Beaver and wet leather boot laces wrapped round the right index finger, better than a whip, what a party - reminds me of when I lived in Hamburg in my younger days!!
Makes me sad thinking about it, all that wasted energy, if I'd not been so energetic then I might have had some left for now!! lol

Alled, did you get that scope from "Q"??

what is it?

Bucksden, the range-finding scope on his Tikka is either a Bushnell or a Burris. It looks pretty damned heavy though.

Its okay Baldrick, Alled doesn't worry about the weight of his rifle. He gets his native bearers to carry it around for him when he is not shooting tigers from the back of an elephant!

Ok I'll come clean I brought back a couple of iban warriors from sarawak to carry my firearms while out hunting lol :-D Sorry baldrick your wrong on both counts, its the original laser range finding scope made by swarovski, their were very few made. Its got great optics, I got it second hand off the guy who owns the guntrader website. The only bugger is the mounting system it uses apel mounts and its a rail so you have to get the power drill to fit it. You should have seen me and Bob at Adenbourne trying to fit the bl*&^y thing it was hilarious. Works great, I am just waiting for a new cap to go on the side paralex adjustment nob. Surprisingly that rifle is not that heavy, the scope itself is about 2lbs, it doesnt even come close to the ruger which may be better fitted to a battleship or a tank :-D For tigers I use an A10 much more fun :-D The model is swarovski 3-12x50 LRS. Hope this info is useful

Thanks for the info, Alled, I didn't know Swaro had ever made a civilian range-finding scope. It's fairly clear where Bushnell and Burris got their inspiration from though, looking at the design of your scope.

Why have you left the garish yellow laser sticker on it though?

Good question baldrick um :???: My homage to the american hunters who have to wear bright orange jackets, not really sure. I may remove it at some point in the future I may not :-D I am aware of at least two of these things in this country, I own one and the I believe the Technical director for Swarovski UK has got one. For those of you highly observant freaks. One of these is in the film the Jackal, and knowing what it is makes the line than comes out of Richard Geres mouth look totally stupid. I believe it is on top of a roof and he says to his colleague range me the target. Press a button and do it yourself you Moron  I have no idea how many were sold but every so often they appear on ebay. They come with a nice box as well. Mounting them is and absolute Ba£$%*d. If you find any info out Baldrick I would apprecaite hearing it :)
Regards
Alled

Alled keep the sticker on the rifle as a safety aid. That way you will know which is the nasty shooty end! ;)

Good one, so I dont forget which end to point in the direction of the target :-D It never occurred to me to remove it, HSE would probably like it so I should probably remove it before they insist you guys have them on different parts of your rifles. I can just see one of the requisit notices do not stick fingers or any other elongated body part into hole may result in serious injury :-D Work that one out mate see you on saturday.

Jock, have you thought about replacing the mounts on your CZ with lower ones? It looks like the scope is some way above the line of the bore.

I have thought about it, just not bothered yet, does the job, zeroed at 60m.

Another thing is that the bolt movement only just clears the scope, so to drop to lower mounts might mean having an uncomfortable eye relief position having to pull the scope back an inch or so.

Something seems to have gone wrong.
I don't know how to post them as picture in the frame as some of you have done so it doesn't look as if you will get a look at mine after all, sorry.

Here is a pic of one of my long rang rigs.

It has had a B&C stock fitted with alu bedding block and has been re-crowned.

It now shoots sub half groups consistently. The pic indoors was when it was set up for a week on the Sika using 160 grn Accubonds with an illum S&B 3-12 x 50 Mil dot ret and the pic outdoors is as it is now with a NXS 3.5-15 x 50 on board as a dedicated long ranger.

Oh by the way it is a Remi 700 (XCR) in 7mm Rem Mag with a Jet Z mod.
