PPU Ammunition

I tried it in a 243 years ago. Very difficult to close the bolt on. I read this is not uncommon.
Had an otherwise exceptionally accurate 25-06 in which it fired patterns rather than groups.
Conversely, my 222 shoots it very well.

.22-250, 3/4" group
.243, Gave up
6.5x55, 1.5" group
.308, 1.5" group
Its worth trying, if it works in your rifle buy it, if it doesn't you're out of pocket a few quid

I've used it quite a lot in a number of different rifles and chamberings . It's decent ammo and shot well in some of my rifles , particularly one chambered in 8x57 , and well enough in others . Like any ammunition , what shoots well in some rifles won't shoot in others . It's definitely worth a try .

Personally speaking, I have never owned a rifle that would shoot better than perhaps a 2" group with it, friends however, tell a different story, a pals 6.5x55 shoots a decent 3/4" group, another's .243 has been known to almost clover leaf with it, sometimes you get lucky I guess.

As above, good brass for reloading.

223 ok
308 ok
22H not ok, couldn’t get better than 2.5” at 100 so not great for rabbit head shots.

If I didn’t reload I’d probably use it in the 223 & 308 as 2” @ 100 is well dead at the distance I usually pull the trigger.

I plan on working up a load with some of their bullets once I run out of the current stock I have

I come from a country where PPU is producedso and I do NOT use it att all... I do I lot of foxing and groups aroud 2" @ 100m in 223rem do not satisfy me.
PPU ammo is cheaper with you abroad than in the country where it is produced...
The bullets are very inconsistent in both weight and shape and balance. I was looking at some bullets opening tests on the gel and its not goog...
My opinion: It is cheaper for me to buy a more expensive ammo with a higher quality bullet than PPU... Brass is ok..

My stalking mentor - a professional stalker/ghillie for a major Highland estate - used 6.5 x 55mm PPU 140gr JSP exclusively in his Sako 75. Good accuracy and no complaints from (a lot of) deer.

Just to add, I know of someone who bought it for their .270, they put it in the loading press and seated it slight deeper, and also loosed the bullet, few whacks in the kinetic hammer to lengthen without removing the bullet, then played with seating depth until they had a really accurate and cheap round
