Pressure Washer advice needed

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to buy either a Karcher k7 or a Bosch120 Aquatak.

The thing that is putting me off the Bosch is its inability to alter the water pressure so I'm leaning towards the Karcher .

The washer will be used mainly to clean my Freelander and, hopefully, remove the moss from my driveway.

Any views out there?

I am open to alternative suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Have a karcher and does the job well. Not the K7 model. Mine has separate tank underneath to add car or patio washing detergents in. Have the patio cleaning head too and that's great

Most aftermarket accessories are designed to fit the Karcher system. This may be relevant for the future when you want to buy accessories such as snow foam sprayers, drain or gutter cleaners etc.

Never had a bosh and probably never will, but extremely happy with karcher full control k7 will be more than adequate for what you are saying. Heard a good things about nilfisk commercial models but not sure about smaller domestic one

Yep, for ease of use the Stihl is much more user friendly, for starters the hose reel is in the correct orientation, the hose is soft braided so very flexible with no memory, the Karcher (K5 pretty much the same as the K7 from what i can see) is made of hard plastic and its an absolute bitch to unravel and staighten, and then reeling in is the same ordeal.
Nowhere for the powercord to live on the Karcher and again hard plastic, the Stihl is flexible and has its hooks to wind around.

Don’t bother with variable power but rather go with maximum and deploy the lance accordingly.

Hmm. I get what you say, but unless you are pretty good deploying that lance, you can easily turn that rust spot you thought was bird poo into a big area where the paint lifts on the old pickup. And constantly using full power on a concrete or similar ground area, for example will destroy it.

Stihl vote here again. I think the karchers connect to your phone via an app which seems like a crazy idea. For reliability you want it as simple as possible. Love the hose reel on the stihl. Comments about karcher accessories, you can buy adapters to put karcher on stihl. I’ve just been using the drain cleaner on my stihl.

Karcher K7 money will buy you a Kranzle , very good quality washers , fully serviceable all bits are readily available , bought one a few years ago it gets used and abused by all family members .

The above hose is a game changer for Karcher, just lays limp on the reel or ground

For what it's worth +1 on a nilfisk (purely domestic use).

But also to add it came with a fan/auto nozzle that is sublime on a car, vs all the turbo jet blaster nozzles that can be used on the aggressive stuff. I've not had a power/flow control but find the fan/Auto nozzle invaluable when using on the car and window sills etc.

I'm sure there are similar attachments for various brands...so I got full throttle but with the right attachment for the job.

We bought a stihl recently - really impressed with it - the build quality over the Karcher is noticeable, and also the reel for the hose on the RE140 is a total game changer.

I see you are in central Scotland - the HIS inveralmond branch stock these and also a good number of spare parts, o-rings, disposables etc for the stihl washers.
