Primer tools

You need to narrow down your options via requirements.
You chosen hand primer over bench.
Now you need price, precision and speed.
I use the 21st century primer. Can adjust the seating depths so it’s exactly the same each time which allows me .002 of crush on my primers. My friend didn’t like this primer as it was too slow compared to the Lee primer

I have the basic one where you just seat the primer in until fully seated, not the one where you can adjust the depth.
I have set up two, one for LR and one for SR. They work fine but am still experimenting between them and the Forster bench mounted primer, at the moment I am favouring the Forster, but only because I can mount it on the left hand side of my bench in the vice.
I suspect the Derraco`s will be moved on soon.
PM if your looking to sell the PCPs lite

If you are limited for space, or use your bench for other hobbies (like me), you can’t go wrong with the Lee Hand Quick Prime. Very quick and reasonably priced new - I even use it to reload pistol calibres now.

Hi blueroll any reason you went for the lite over the one with the micro adjustable,
I was under the impression that you should seat primers fully so that all of the energy of the firing pin is used to crush the primer and not wasted on pushing the primer in further.
That theory has always worked well for me and the only reason I have moved away from doing it the with my 21st century hand primer (up for sale in the classified section) is an old wrist injury has manifested itself into painful arthritis and limited strength.

I used a Lyman hand primer but I prime on my Lee Classic Cast press now. Really simple and the leverage of the press makes it easy to feel when the primer is in.
