evening chaps,

iv just pulled some bullets with my new forster bullet puller, i used to use a hammer type before so this never came up, with this grove affect future use, looks worse than what it is, hardly feel it with my fingers,
iv tried different tension on the puller but any less and it wasn't pulling then,

thanks.

There's a trick to try next time if...if...the case neck is NOT crimped into a crimp groove on the bullet. The trick is to use the seating die (adjusted so it does not add any crimp) and use that to seat the bullet into the case by a few millimetres. This will allow it to start to move forward and its inertia will then "break" the mechanical adhesion that the case mouth had on it. And, no, the groove is cosmetic. It shouldn't affect its being able to be reloaded and used.

i think i understand that, roughly your saying seat the bullet in a few mm with my seating die, , then pull it, i have no crimp any any of my rounds.

thanks,

Perhaps not to use them to take shot of a gold medal ibex which you have traveled far and climbed many mountains. But use them up refining your technique to make shots from awkward positions.

Bullets are expensive, pulled bullets may be slightly marked, and may not give you perfect accuracy, but still good enough for practice purposes.
