Pump or bottle?

Hand pump? I just serviced and resealed my Hill pump for the first time which is about 20yrs old. Back to new again for the next 20yrs. Keeps me fit and healthy. As long as you are 10 stone or over and not a complete wimp, it will be fine.
Bottles are great but need refilling if you do any volume of shooting. NO experience of the chinese pumps but I understand they work ok on small reservoirs but can overheat quick on filling larger bottles. Hill do a very good item but it is about a grand to buy.
My Hill pump is well made but a couple of years back I upgraded the nephew to a PCP and rather than him wreck my pump or constantly call me over to charge his gun, I just got him a cheapo chinese hand pump. Was about £30 from memory. Seems to be doing fine still and will have pumped that gun up many dozens of times by now so they can be purchased with a degree of confidence.

Have bottles and a pump, brought a compressor for airguns, lasted about 10 months then went back unless you buy a decent one I wouldn't bother with them

I have a handpump and a bottle.
The handpump is easier maintenance etc. it is, however, quite labour intensive and no good on soft ground.
I bought a small tank recently and it's excellent if I'm being honest, so I'd stick with it if it was me.
I can't comment on the little compressors, but I've heard anecdotally they can be temperamental.

Get your old bottle retested. If it fails, buy another one, as large as you can... make life easy for yourself... stirrup pumps spoil the whole experience of a PCP.

Bottle biggest and highest pressure you can get. Guarantees dry clean air. Get 2nd one use one for bulk filling and other for top end fill. Depends on how much shooting you do but will last for years. In fact highly likely it will go out of test before you need refill. I think the new ones for PCP are 5 year tests.

12ltr Dive bottle, ensure it is fitted with a SURFACE fill valve, NOT' a dive fill . REASON surface fill 5 year Test. dive fill valve 3year Test.
