Recommend me a gas BBQ please!

I'm sure I'll have my SD membership terminated immediately for asking, but recommendations for a small gas barbie please? Ideally freestanding, couple of burners.

I'm a big fan of charcoal and have a good sized Weber which gets used a lot but tonight is a perfect example of when a wee gas one would be perfect... Just me and 75 junior with a couple of venison burgers. It's too nice to be inside so I will fire up the charcoal barbie but sometimes a little convenience would be great!

Second this. Had several Aussie Outback gas ones over the years but then switched to a gas Webber and year after year it simply works well. Either way the Outbacks I seemed to be forever replacing burners. Sadly, you are buying at the “peak of the season” - I always try to buy garden furniture/BBQ etc at the end of the season when there are some bargains to be had but then I’m tight careful

Had an Outback for years, no maintenance or love lives outside and fires up with no issues, serves us well. Agree if time allows you can’t beat a charcoal bbq but for convenience gas is great.

I was just looking at those - do you have a proper bottle with it as the version I found came set up for disposable canisters of gas?

I’ve just bought one of these mainly for cooking breakfast and grilling when we are away in the caravan, like you for convenience over charcoal.

Also planning to take it stalking for a quick breakfast after a morning stalk.

It has two grilling plates, one ribbed one flat that can be interchanged with pot stands and even a coffee pot stand. It can run off small has catridges for extra portability.

I’ve had a Weber for 5 years now, it’s really good, always a charcoal man before that but for convenience you can’t beat gas.

Replaced it with one with a flatplate instead of a grill. If outback did flatplates id have got another outback, but they dont, so got a difference make. Hope this one lasts 19 years!

Yip a flat plate is superb, we bought a 22” Blackstone table top griddle, the BBQ never gets used anymore

I've got an Outback and I'm very pleased with it. It's gas, but there is a drop-in basket that sits between the grill and two of the burners that can be filled with lumpwood or briquettes. So to light the coal you blast it with gas flame for about 10 minutes, then turn the gas off and cook on the coals. Nice.
