Recommendations for waterproof Stalking Jacket

Arcteryx Leaf Alpha in Crocodile

Have jacket and pants well into ten probably closer to fifteen years of every week use

Still waterproof and still extremely durable - one zip on a selfie used pocket ceased to work this year

May be spendy but quality lasts

I have used various smocks jackets, a swedteam titan which is virtually indestructible and keeps me warm and dry in the worst conditions it's downside is unless you get a decent used one they are no longer available but it would probably be on the heavy side for lots of walking on the hill in anything other than wettest coldest weather.

The best most versatile smock I use nowadays is the Keela parachutist it's fantastic in all conditions I use this most nowadays you can get them in good condition used on eBay, try and look at the Mk5 the latest version another plus it's easier to put on take off than the swed while retaining the long length along with a multitude of pockets to carry everything you'd ever need.

Kuiu Yukon rain jacket. However, I must say that I am extremely satisfied with a military surplus Austrian Alpine Gore-tex over jacket. It is completely waterproof and breathable performing at the same level of gartments at least ten times more expensive!
+1 for the Yukon, its my daily rain jacket and loving it.

Someone showed me a jacket made by Carinthia, looked good, but not impressed by the zip quality. I think his son is possibly in Special Forces!

Evening,

Interested in your choice of Waterproof Jacket for Hill Stalking in an anticipated wet Scottish October?

Cheers.

If you have the budget,
FORTIS Forester Coat
British made,
Waterproof even in horizontal rain.
I've had it over 10 years.
Used 4 or 5 days a week.
I love it so much, I sent it for repairs about 3 years ago, a new Waterptoof drop liner, and some sewing and patching.
Cost for repairs £100.00 plus carriage.
The alternative was black sack and landfill.
Brilliant service.
