red deer rut

I went back on west coast no roaring and no sign of stags till sun when i started to pack up for home seems after talking to others everyone is struggling at the minute not alot of rutting happening.

spoke to my boy up near loch awe today..no sign of the rut yet either, esp. on the hill. he'd been asking around the neighbouring estates, and they all say there's nothing happening..it's going to be a VERY late rut this year, could almost miss the end of the season - how's that for a shjite year for the estates!!!

Weather has turned nasty here just now, high winds, driving rain and no deer, it is getting colder though :-D, its not happening on my ground yet.

Still roaring with me shot nice eight pointer tonight who was roaring his head off. It's definitely not the usual rut this year, think the weather is to blame, it's still too warm.

I was on a new bit of ground on Tuesday morn for first time and had walked round it once weeks ago seeing 2 red hinds. I was met by the noise of 5 different stags and as the light came in there were reds everywhere. The rut is really late but getting going now. I was really delighted with the numbers I saw and some good stags. The wind swirling in this location makes it a challenge.

was in south west scotland wed and they had just started / spoke to keeper this afternoon and he said they well in to rut :-D

Just got back from Galloway saw one roaring stag and one with 4 hinds but only 3/4 year olds the big fellas are still hiding

their well into the rut roaring their heads off i skinned 2 monsters yesterday morn for a dealer they were absolutely smelling

I was out in near Thetford (Norfolk) this week and saw a nice stag with hinds behaving as if he was rutting but not roaring however the keeper said they were roaring not far away and someone else told me they were roaring well up on the North Norfolk coast.

The stag I saw was in the last of the light, in a howling gale (the high seat was moving) and over 250 yards so I passed on a shot.
