Good evening ladies and gentlemen!

My beloved 1100 (that i got from a dodgy chap on here) snapped its firing pin this morning while out and about!

A long shot, i know, but is anyone breaking a 1100, or have any ideas where a spare can be found in the UK (i have been searching for a few hours and so far, no stock anywhere)?

TIA

Many thanks gents, both are out of stock, but have been messaged!

Thanks again

It’s one basic part to produce by any competent gunsmith. And its quality will probably be better than original pin.

As an aside, I wonder why it broke. I had many 1100s and 11/87s in my practical shotgun days as did many others. I only ever heard of 1 firing pin break and it was mine. I put it down to cleaning with Fospro that I had borrowed from the TA. Fospro is a sort of contact cleaner/lubricant type of stuff that was also very good at removing carbon from guns. After looking into it, I heard lots of reports of SLR firing pins breaking too as a result of Fospro. It seems as well as removing carbon it destroys case hardening

No idea, but from what I can tell, it was manufactured around 1967-1976, so age and poor QC on the production seem to be likely causes (if you believe what you read on the Internet)

I'll be claiming my commission soon 🤣
I hope it's not a percentage 🤣🤣

The chap asked who referred me when I called him today to say it had arrived and was spot on. He wasn't sure that he knew anyone by the name of "Smellydog" 🤣

But yes, very thankful for the help bud, if our paths ever cross, I'll get you a pint
