I have the above heading it's way to me and I'm super excited to try a 22-250 for the first time, this will be a varminting/foxing rifle.

I'm going to home load for it with 50g or 53g vmax and N140.

I have one question and I couldn't find the answer on line, what is the thread size for the moderator?, the one I'm getting comes with a mod but I will swap it out for a wildcat evolution.

Massive thanks to Grampian guns on here for a super smooth and very well communicated transaction

Excellent choice, hope it’ll account for many varmints and foxes! My first centerfire was a Rem700 .22/250 Varmint, blued metal and wood stock, always regretted letting it go…

cheers mate, ive got high hopes for it and plenty of rabbits and crows to feed vmax to!
this will be my first remmy700 so looking forward to it.

VSSF are good guns and Grampian are good to deal with.
Suspect it’s 5/8 UNF and you will smile each time you pull the trigger!
I have the same in 220 swift and they are awesome rifles 👍
Cheers mate, 5/8 UNF 👍
I cant wait to get it, it's a caliber that I've wanted for a while and after seeing and hearing about how good it is I'm keen to get it put to good use, just need to pick up some N140 and get on the bench asap🤣

220 swift😎 very nice!

I read there was the original VSSF then a VSSF ll, do you know how to tell the difference?

I think the main difference is the later production VSSF II used a B&C stock over the original HS Precision, however there might be some cross over. Barrelled actions, fluting etc should be pretty similar unless someone can correct me otherwise?

Thanks for that buddy, I will check when it comes and hope my wildcat evolution fits, might just need to open up my spare rear bush for the barrel profile 🤞
in this thread alone (pardon the pun) its been confirmed as 5/8 UNF and UNEF - what's 6 threads per inch between friends....

major diameter of both is 0.6250", 18 tpi and 24 tpi, should probably measure 0.6167 - 0.6239" "IF" cut to a normal thread class (2A)

info here

Think someone should do a sample nuts and bolts pack, so we can use them as gauges!

You won't be sure until you get it in your sticky paws, and try for yourself. HNGD, BTW!

Even on the CZ457 barrels, it seems that the ones that come in to the UK are all 1/2UNF, whereas the threaded ones that make it to the USA are 1/2UNEF.

I have Wildcat Panthers in both those, so have to make sure I pick up the correct one, as the Savage .22LR is UNEF, so have kept that as a crackle finish, whereas the others are smooth, to try and avoid any more "D'Oh!" moments.

Its here and it's a absolute beauty, really happy with it just need to get out and shoot it but I need to sell the stock first as I'm lefthanded so on the look out for a AI chassis for it.

I will try to source a bridge for my wildcat evolution so I can use that on it.

Happy days

Thank you.....so the difference between UNF and UNEF is just a few threads? If I measure the length of the thread would that tell me which i need to get? Or would either work?

Sorry for the dumb question if it's a simple answer but I dont want to buy something that wouldn't work
