Replacing three rifles with just the one.

The problem with just one rifle is if it breaks. I had a .17 and a ,243, one was not ejecting properly so went in for repair I had a hot round damage the extractor from the .243,
my fault but it was a load I had used before and the only change was I annealed the brass.. So that was both in for repair and it happened whilst my licence was in for a variation.
So when a repair was done I could not pick it up.
Had to get the Police to return the license after 5 weeks ( had not even looked at it ) just to have a rifle to shoot. Will then have to resend the license back for them to sit on in again no doubt because of Covid.

Personally I would keep the win mag and flip the other two to replace with a .25-06.

The '06 is a great cartridge and arguably the perfect deer round - it shoots flat, hits like a .270 and kicks like a .243, plus ballistically it shoots very similarly to the win mag in terms of drop etc.

With those two I would argue you're covered for every eventuality from varmints to plains game. The only thing missing is a .22LR or something at the bottom end and a dangerous game rifle at the top end and then you'd be covered anywhere in the world for any quarry.

I’m changing my statement…the 30-06 would maybe be a better option for the “do it all” than the CM….

Something in standard cartridge length 6.5mm will be a good bet. 95gr V-Max are pretty handy on foxes, and a 140gr will go through most things you'll ever shoot at around here. They're a very versatile cartridge.

I'll not pick one for you. The Swede/Creed/Rem all chuck bullets at about the same velocity, so just pick whichever you fancy. If you home load it doesn't even matter what factory ammo is available for it.
