Rifle recommendation in .270

Do you bother with a moderator on a .270?

I do but only because I must.

I usually wear hearing protection aswell, but you've convinced me on a moderator

Mine’s given me tinnitus even with the moderator (shot a fox with it in quite a steep valley). I now always wear ear defenders when shooting rifles, even with moderators on.

Yes they are a bit shouty as a calibre as will you be in later life without a decent Mod

My ten year old said to me this weekend “we don’t communicate very well do we dad? I don’t speak clearly and you are half deaf”. Time to finally get the hearing aids. Get a mod I suggest. Not worth it. Modern ones are lightweight and although they spoil the looks, I think they are important.
