Rifle scopes you own, Your favourite and Why

I own quite a few , but the two that stand out are an old Hensoldt fixed six on a pre - war Mauser sporter , it's still bright and dependable ( unlike me ) even though it's a lot older than I am . The other is a Leopold M-8 four power that has been on more rifles than I can remember . It's just a useful , reliable scope that does what I need .

my choice is a leupold 1-4x20 on a BLR 243, great for thick scrub and easy with both eyes open.
cheers wes

I have the bigger 5-25 schmidt&bender and I really like it but my favourite scope I own has to be the little green 6x42 S&B AI.

Those are great little scopes . I had one on a husky 8X57 , the guy I sold the rifle to insisted that the scope stayed on the rifle or the deal was off . I will definitely buy another......... maybe on a BLR in 358 Win hmmm .

The first scope I ever had is fixed to my .22 10/22.
It is a 3-9x40 Japanese made Tasco with Illuminated reticule from 1984ish!! Yes we had IR in the 80's. It has a lifetime warranty and will be winging its way to JaegerSA soon as it is a little tired, but it is 30 years old.

CZ 452 .22LR. Schmidt and Bender 3-12x50 Classic.
R93 .223 Rem. Zeiss Varipoint 3-10x50IC.
R93 .270 Win. Zeiss 3-12x56 HT Vic. ASV.

Tried many riflescopes on many rifles over the years and I've finally settled on these which I use day to day with good results !
I doubt that I'll ever buy another scope unless I have a serious mishap with one of these.

For stalking I have a Zeiss 3-12x56 Diavari with the number 43 reticle in FFP.
I have tried a higher magnification scope before, however I find this one to be ideal for shots from 50m out to 160/170m, which realistically is all I need for stalking.

Five pages of posts & the OP still hasn't told us all what he has or likes - selfish??

My favorites depend on what I'm shooting with. Got Zeiss, Swaro, S&B, Nickel, Pecar & IOR Valdada. & they all perform well.

Stalking favorite is Zeiss 7 x 50 IR - It just works for all occasions.
Foxing German S&B 8 x 56 Nice low light image.
Targets 223 IOR 4-18 x 42 IR.

Whats it like in low light - we often get days in the winter when it's dark all day. We also tend to shoot at last light and in the high latitudes we have long twilight - not like in Aus or Africa - bright sunshine to full dark in five minutes.

Err No. My internet went down after posted the OP and haven't had access to it over the last week. 'stalking directory' is blocked at my work's internet.

6.5x55 has Z6i gen 1 2.5-15x56
30-06 Meopta 6-24x56 zd
300 WM Kahles K624i

The Kahles is my favourite scope. The parallax adjustment positioned under the elevation turret is just a brilliant invention. The higher mag allows me to do some long distance targets when I want to. The meopta has my favourite reticle though. On all my scopes 6-10 mag ideal for stalking. Use the higher mag for longer shots or range work.

swaro z6i x 50 bt
swaro z6i x 50 br but wished it was the bt and a x56 ( might sell it to upgrade)

my back up scopes that never have let me down.
tasco x56 W/C old ir ret one
Olivon x56 ir
white tail x42
aim point x30

I have a Karl Kaps 2.5-10 x 56 on my Browning A-Bolt in .270 and a Sightron SII Big Sky 3.5-10 x 50 on my Howa 1500 in .243

Must say i love my Karl Kaps as it was my first scope and it has allowed me to shoot in all the conditions i have asked it to so far.

I have Docter scopes on all mine except one which is a Khales. In the past I've used S&B,Zeiss & Swaro. All good but I still prefer the Docter. I would say as everybody's eyes are different so some scopes will suit one but not another.

Great thread, really enjoying reading what others have on their guns...:)

On my 243, I have a Meopta 7x50, love that scope...so clear and great in low light. On my .222 I have a Meopta 3-9x42, another great lightweight scope, and brill in low level light..on my .22 RF, I have a Walther 3-9x56, just a wee cheapy, but great on the rimfire..:)

I really do like Meopta, and will be getting another 7x50 at some point soon....:)

zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50 on my 6.5x55 stalking rifle,
zeiss victory 6-24x56 on my 204 foxing rifle,
sightron 8-32x56 on my 308 target rifle
and a clearidge 4.5-22x50 on my 22lr.
I dont really have a favourite as I think each scope is well suited to each rifle.
They all have the exposed tactical type target turrets
