Rifle sling.

Gents , im after a good strong sling , padded if possible, i do a lot of fox control which includes many miles of walking
with the weight of the rifle, and NV its starting to do my shoulder in ,, any suggestions out there

Top notch one without doubt. Takes the weight off your back and shoulder nicely. Unclips quickly and easily to mount on the sticks.
 
I use a Harkila deluxe leather sling when I don’t attach my rifle to a pack. Works well, nice and wide.
 
I’ve used the Niggleloh “Paddy” for years which was really comfortable and spread the load well, then about 18 months ago bought a Quake Claw and found it equally as good with the added advantage of being virtually non slip.
 
Have you considered a more portable rifle ? I recently switched to the second strap type with a magnetic snap and a loop around for the pistol grip . It stops the thing rolling off my shoulder but that's it! a true short action and a skinny barrel and a smaller mod perhaps ?

All my rifles have Quake "Claw" slings. I carry my rifles over rough terrain, up rock faces, across prairies. Rain, heat, or snow, the rifle stays put yet comes off the shoulder when I want it to. I can go from slung to shooting with hardly a thought. ~Muir

Yep i would do , BUT a variation for my ticket at the moment would take around 18 months :-| so problem not worth it
and i love my Longbow so a padded strap is problem my only answer
 
If you want a solid leather sling with a section of it padded where it goes over your shoulder, give Dan a ring at Braces of Bristol.
I don't know the name of it but it is solid bridle leather for the whole length. I bought one some time ago and as far as I can remember about £50 but worth every penny.
