When sitting in a high seat . I always remove the sling from my rifle , it only takes a 30 seconds to do . I am then able to mount the rifle with out the hindrance of the sling getting in the way , try it you will not look back.

I like it on, it acts as a layer between the rifle and the metal of the high seat so it stops it from knocking or rubbing.....plus is something to grab If it were to slip!

DS i have taped pipe insulation to rest the rifle on, whilst shooting from my high seats.
