When sitting in a high seat . I always remove the sling from my rifle , it only takes a 30 seconds to do . I am then able to mount the rifle with out the hindrance of the sling getting in the way , try it you will not look back.
I like it on, it acts as a layer between the rifle and the metal of the high seat so it stops it from knocking or rubbing.....plus is something to grab If it were to slip!

Hi i have fitted a rail on the front of one high seat and welded up a v shape wide enough to hold the rifle four end with pipe lagging it slides along the rail with a turn screw to tighten up perfect rest it can swivel left and right as well when waiting for a shot the rest is resting in it with the stock on the floor
