Hi all, I have just saved these from a friends wet garage. Don’t ask me why he left them out there.
I wonder if they are salvageable and what they are and any valuations please .
I think one is. a Mauser and one an Enfield but could be wrong.
I sprayed them all with Browning wood and metal spray and have worked some gun oil into the bolts and they now work as do the triggers.
Not on the musket ,haven’t got round to that yet.

The Mosin appears to be a 91/30, WWII issue type. Did it have a plug welded into the chamber? Looks like it from the top view. I can't make out the crest on the 98 but it really doesn't matter. Both are toast.~Muir

I'd say the Mosin has a plugged barrel . The Mauser might be a Yugo of some sort . All irrelevant as they are both in pretty bad shape .

Put them back in the garage and let them die in peace. Save yourself a lot of hassle.

If they are de acts to the current regulations they will be worth more than firearms? If they were on an old deactivated certificate then you cannot sell them or even give them away now with out a updated deactivated certificate. They would make wall hangers.

Have a watch of this - he brings a much worse rifle back to life

That is a brilliant video. I have an old air rifle of my Dad's which I think could benefit from the gentle restoration techniques he's showing. I'm going to get one of the carding wheels with the 0.0025" bristles. I've been wondering for ages how to get the surface rust off it and I think that is the perfect answer. Thanks very much.
