Been out tonight slaley Hexham area tried the call in a couple of places no show rut not underway here yet
Atb tom

Out from four pm two Roe does and two fantastic well on fawns, no sign of any bucks in the area, two bucks seen away from the does, but absolutely no rutting behaviour from any of em, munty buck seen as well.

Out after rabbits this evening so all good for another day in very sunny, hot and clammy Surrey.

Is it going to happen

Roe have vanished: on my daily train commute I have only seen one doe and two kids (v well grow) normally see half a dozeen each way. Have seen nothing out foxing Sunday eve but shot 2 dog foxs, very humid last night with thunderstorms 4am today.

Out before work again yesterday 0400-0600hrs had a buck barking but wouldn't show or respond to the call, 3 mornings now not a deer seen!

it's this heat, then rainstorm issue..they're just kicking back in the undergrowth with some good p*rn and a box of paper towels!

Plenty of chasing. Still seeing does on there own though! Watched a young doe feed at one end of the field whilst a buck chased a mature doe at the other end. The lone done came from a different direction.

Not long been in from checking on the birds, and saw a buck closely following a nice doe with twins.
Well pleased as the numbers are slowly creeping up.

watched a buck serve a doe twice last evening, he looked like a youngster, very small head, there goes the theory of big bucks being dominant, could have culled him as they were 20yds from me, but have lived by the theory of ' don,t deprive a dog what you would,nt deprive yourself ':D

Was out last night and saw 3 seperate bucks "questing", that is to say they were running around their boundaries searching for does. Mate got 1 (I was there for foxes). Didnt have to call so dont know how it would have gone. Think we have a proper start round here

Well went out on some ground last night with a fellow forum member, saw a doe in some v tall spring rape. Unbelievably we saw two bucks, shot both first was a young scraggy four pointer with one anler still partially in dried velvet, the other was a small four pointer. Both were feeding and no sign of rutting activity what so ever. I had to neck shoot the first and it took no notice of calls whatsoever but his fate was sealed when he looked up and stared at something at the oposite end of the feild. He was engrossed in feeding on weeds in a field of stubble turnips and oblivious of our presence as food was on his mind.

We tried calling in several other likely areas and not the slightest responce.

Conversly last night my shooting buddy saw 7 roe and the bucks were deffinitely in rutting mode. That was 40 miles south.

Very strange.

nothing happening on my ground as yet but going back each night in hopes, its a mare at minute as boundrys have not been cut so its chest high at the minute so not stalking friendly, atb wayne

Nothing is reacting to any of the calls though! :banghead:

Sitting at a set of traffic light in Riddrie in Glasgow, 5 mins out of the city centre in a rough scrubby waste bit of ground, about 30 yards away, i watched a buck running a doe round and round a tree, running her on a roe ring, he had his nose right up her back side and i think if the lights hadnt changed may have seen him mount her.

So at least in Glasgow area the rut is happening

Being a City Centre Glasgow Buck is this the definition of a Murder Buck :D

Took the dog for a walk this evening and checked out the local roe population watched 6 deer all within 50yds of each other including a buck chasing a doe hard, had a call in my pocket a after a couple of toots on the call a beast came charging down the field and stopped 20yds in front of me looking quite wound up, interesting! looks like things are starting to happen here abouts.

Was up on my ground this evening and did not see a thing! I defo thought there would have been some rut action!!
that was around the Abington area!

I can't complane though there is plenty of fox action around my other bit of land got one last night!!
