Rovince clothing

Is this kit any good or just wash in to summer kit ? Do they come up true to size or go a size above ? Thanks in advance .

Personally I’ve found it poorly fitted and nowadays I soak some old clothes in anti tick stuff some ex army stuff at the moment. Works well cheap too.

I believe in it - as it’s lightweight, I stalk in the summer & do work parties in it. Never had a tick while using it.

It’s not your heavy duty waterproof cordura, but it’s pretty decent quality and perfect for warm ramblings.

Have the shirts and trousers and they come up pretty true to size.

I did an experiment a while back using a Rovince shirt 😆

I’ve been wearing Rovince ergoline trousers and the bamboo polo shirts for the last few years. Some of the areas where I go stalking I come out with 20-30 ticks crawling on my trousers and I was having to remove too much ticks for my liking. I’ve not removed one tick since wearing Rovince so they definitely work. I needed to go up one size for the trousers but the polo shirts seem true to size.

As previously stated Rovince clothing does work. I purchased some after a Red deer hunt last October
where I came home wearing 17 ticks and the guy with me who was decked out in Rovince clothing had none.
Since I started wearing it I had no ticks. The sizing for me was off I had to size up and as Utectok said the fit is not 100% but it is better than getting lymes disease.

I use the ergoline trousers alone with a harkila Long sleeve T – shirt

Glendine.

I have been 5 seasons without a tick wearing the ergoline trousers and shirt. [caveat, the only tick I had was when I rolled sleeves up to avoid bloodying and found that on my forearm...]

Size-wise clothing comes up about right, although you may need to hem the leg to suit.

  • Small niggles: latest version of shirt has pit-zips. Not really needed: cloth is light enough.
  • But what the shirt really lacks is phone-size pockets. If you are crouching to gralloch, there exists a possibility that your phone will slip out trousers or get compromised against other stuff as you kneel. Phone really wants to be in a secure chest pocket during groundwork.

Trousers a tad long, they will need a bit off the length unless you are tall.
I'm 34" inside leg and had to take an inch off my ones.

They do work.
I've got the trousers, shirt, gaiters and hat. Never had a tick on me since i'm wearing them, where before i pulled out 14, after a few hours foot stalking...

I’m Just wondering what solution, do you use on your clothes for the ticks?
Thanks

Biased for obvious reasons..

Used to be a tick magnet until I started wearing Rovince nearly 10yrs ago.

My ground in South Ayrshire was lifting with ticks this weekend; ticks on the dog, ticks on the deer, but no ticks on me despite crawling around on rough ground.

Other option is Lifesytems:

I am on the second season with mine. Never had a Tick since. Pants are really good. Not waterproof but nothing is in Ireland. Jacket is sized a bit small have 3XL and still tight. Normally 2XL is ok for me. Jacket is not warm.... need a good fleece under in the winter baut at least has a hoody.

How breathable is Rovince clothing?
I over heat easy and don’t want to be feeling like I being boiled in a bag- currently using thin graghopper trousers, but looking for something to deter the ticks.

Had a very good look at them a few times as I have tick infestations in places stalk, and. I’m a tick magnet. However, despite the thought of ticks just falling off, I’ve not been able to commit the money to a product that doesn’t feel like it would survive long, and which doesn’t repel water. Having to add waterproof over trousers just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m trying the repellant route, although, so far, not too successful, but I haven’t tried many products yet

Rovince is good lightweight kit for summer use, but if you want to protect other standard garments from ticks, this stuff really is very good.

Shoot some pretty infested tick areas and not had one since I started using it about 8 years ago.

Biggest danger these days is when skinning and butchering at home. 🙄

Bottle that big lasts about 6 months. When applied, offers protection for 6 weeks and can generally get five outfit (jacket & trousers) applications.
