Lads and lasses, the latest posts on the Certificate of Export are a little dated. What is the latest news please and, I would be very grateful for the relevant e mail address and phone number of the relevant parties who deal with this.
Anybody gone from Scotland recently? If so, what news?
Thanks everyone and good hunting in 2017.

huh? :D

from which side, the Outfitter side / Taxidermy or Export company, every one has a "export Certificate" to comply by.

Obviously I did not make myself clear. I am travelling to SA in late March and was looking for an update as to "Certificate of Export" paperwork taking a rifle to and fro.

He means the U.K. end. Just looking for update/confirmation of the contact details already on this site in case there have been any changes.

everything stays 'status quo' nothing changed. I can re-post it aging if required?

perhaps the administrators must open a 'sticky' in the desired section with all this information????

Could anyone also provide me with the name, phone no. or email for who I should contact to get an export certificate for S.A. I went thru the process in 2015 but I'm struggling to make contact with ukba using old details?
Many thanks.

I'm in SA just now. Pretty much cruised through Police office yesterday morning - albeit I was the only hunter there. I had my certificate of export of course - plus SAPS form filled in, plus passport, plus invitation, plus return flight info. I'll have a look later if no one else has replied about how to get the letter. The turnaround time was minimal.
Just having and early brunch so that we can try and outwit the Sable thus afternoon.
I see you're from the Fort. I'll make sure I help you lad.

good luck amego.

Well, I'm here just now and pretty much cruised through Joburg police. I did have the certificate of export right enough. Easy to obtain and good service from the office in London. There's another thread running on here just now somewhere started by qwerty if you are needing addresses.

Just returned from SA
To confirm, you require;

Export letter (contact detailed above)
SAPS 520 form, completed before you arrive and take with you
Invitation letter
Return flight confirmation details - copy of your booking confirmation
Copy of your passport
Copy of your Firearms Certificate
Allow a minimum of 3 hours if your have a connecting flight - otherwise no issues unless other hunters in front of you who haven't got the correct papers!

Don't fly British Airways, they took longer and charged more than the African's to process the guns and the 747 was ancient and painful.

Otherwise a great hunting trip, 2nd time with Glen Oliver, Mamlambo Safaris, nr Komga, Eastern Cape.

Border Force took three weeks to process my export letter in April 2017. I'm off down next Tuesday.

I’m down next year and flying BA this time. I know but I have a Companion voucher, have used my Avios points and am travelling Business Class :)

Do BA take rifles direct to the SAPS office at Joburg?

Stan

Thanks for that. So I “identify” my rifle case and then they take it to SAPS office?

I know I pay for rifle carriage but I ‘m paying just under £ 1000 (rifle included) to get two of us Business Class.
