Hi all
I am going to hunt in Arica for the first time . Can you help me out listing any essential kit you take when going hunting in there ?
Regards
Chill

Yes the pith helmet is quite frankly essential 🤣
Most importantly comfortable worn in boots and good walking socks and a wide brimmed hat. The rest you can make up yourself. Bear in mind that every plant in the bush will have thorns, even if you can’t see them and some will even puncture car tyres so having some thickness to your trousers and shirt could be helpful. I particularly remember one plant that hurt like buggery when you brushed up against it despite not having thorns something like a really bad nettle sting! I would go with trousers rather than shorts but that’s just me ! Top half I spent most of my time in a T shirt with a fleece for early and late in the day

I hope you were really dirty when you got in and hadn’t just s**t the bath!
I promise you it came out of the tap that colour.

Not surprising really, when you worked out that they just piped it in straight from the river...

personally would make sure a nice sedan chair was available for the natives to transport me, other than a nice pith helmet a Sam browne type belt and sturdy riding crop think you have it covered.

A pair of gaiters, the low leather ones if you can manage it, the local plants are very adept at dropping spiny seeds and thorns into your boots.
Cash is nice to have, dollars work everywhere, so do Euro.

Both Namibian and SA PHs have quoted me tariffs in GBP and taken same in payment.

Gaiters and boot choice from previous thread:

I’m not having a pop at the £, I brought both € and $ cash, it facilitated local negotiations no end.
Just as it does here 😉
