Safari style comp

FGASA have, over the years, developed drills for left handers using right handed rifles

Borne of necessity as game guides do not have deep pockets for purchasing their own

… and will often have to make do with what tools are available from the camp management

As for a comp - great idea

Just my 2p worth.

For those not used to the (ahem) bigger chamberings.

Herewith are the amounts of such you will need (at paper) before it gets just plain uncomfortable...

Unknown-2.jpeg.416 = one and done.

Unknown-4.jpeg.375 = One (not too bad, lets try that again...two yeah...three, fcuk that).

A good practice round for DG are these...

To fully appreciate the "African" experience, fire one round of .22 at your Buffalo paper target, get a mate to smash this into your shoulder...

Then burn one of these...

You are very welcome....

and this is why this event is worth while. Practice before getting out the Bush Sweld!

I've been told that my simulator of having a 55gal drum filled with water that hits you at high speed if not shot enough, isn't allowed, due to risk of death!

I'll keep thinking of ideas.

I could lend you a cow, if that would help?
A few pings from air rifle pellets would probably enrage her sufficiently to respond in the desired manner, without doing her any lasting harm.

If you want to make it really realistic; then you need to have the following included in the categories:-

  • Malaria, Acrophobia and how it affects your point of aim.
Unknown-6.jpeg

  • V&D and how it affects your ability to leave the tent.
Unknown-4.jpeg

  • Sitting in the back of a Toyota in shorts, and forgetting to 'cream' your knees.
Unknown-5.jpeg

  • Deciding on when (if) to take the shot, all whilst, rolling these dice...

Right guys, this looks like it's worth persuing.
I'll work out something with the range and look at inviting other interested parties.

Maybe next summer though, as a safari shoot in the ****ing rain and cold won't be authentic.
