Rubbish. So the only logical conclusion is a totalitarian world government. And who runs that? Who elects it? How would voters possibly have any kind of accountable representation? And where do you think the factionalism, the nationalism, would go - evaporate overnight? As if. So you would have to invent a new word. Instead of blaming all ills on the meaningless catch-all term of nationalism, you have to call it anti-globalism because you've abolished the word nation. But only the word. All the the old allegiances, loyalties, the sense of blood, place and belonging would remain unchanged, they would just be disenfranchised and go underground to become shadowy and destructive with catastrophic consequences for endless strife and conflict that could only be quelled by authoritarianism. The concept of pernicious "nationalism" you have in your head, is created and stoked by supranationalism, not solved by it. The EU is a demonstration on a smaller scale of precisely that flawed process. It is why we left and it is why others will leave. It's nationalism plain and simple
The SNP blames Westminster
The English nationalists blame the EU
The US nationalists (i.e Trump) blame the Chinese, and immigrants from South America
The Greeks blame the Turks
The Turks blame the Greeks
The French blame the Germans
The Germans blame the Jews
The Russians blame everybody
Nationalism is universally a bad thing
Cheers

The sad thing abut all this is the fact that the nine women who initially made complaints about Mr Fumble are being side lined and abused on "social" media. They were all obviously lying and Mr Fumble and his legal team made sure that he was found innocent of all charges - add to all this the ensuing scrap between Sturgeon and her predecessor means that no-one will win and the whole Holyrood system looks like a tin pot dictatorship..... We will have a few more weeks of this bullsh*t before the election up here so I assume there will be a bit more mud thrown about before then. You will note of course that Sturgeon never has the gall to say "Judge me on my achievements"...... simple response would be......there aren't any! Nope, all her arguments revolve around "Aren't the tories child eating murderers and I'm not Boris" . This sums up the desperate state of Scottish politics.

There is nothing wrong with the concept of the nation and of national belonging. It's the natural default unit of international politics provided all nations respect the right of others to exist and live as they choose.
Neither can anyone else, apparently. The Edinburgh Agreement committed both the UK and Scottish governments to respect the referendum’s outcome.
No, she will still have to answer any specific charges made against her relating to infringments of the ministerial code ( - three at the last count), with any single infringement/breach being notionally a resignation matter, if a) the code is to have any meaning, and b) if the minister/transgressor involved has any shred of er, honour. So not off the hook, but, to continue on the piscatorial theme, not yet at the net and/or awaiting the ‘priest’.But is the wee Sturgeon off the hook as I sought to suggest in post #87?

Hopefully they will eschew the net and use a gaff! No, she will still have to answer any specific charges made against her relating to infringments of the ministerial code ( - three at the last count), with any single infringement/breach being notionally a resignation matter, if a) the code is to have any meaning, and b) if the minister/transgressor involved has any shred of er, honour. Unless it is mentioned on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” programme tomorrow morning I refuse to believe this is going anywhere but am more than happy to be proved wrong. It is starting to get very interesting! BBC tonight:-
“MSPs on Holyrood's management group have agreed that a controversial submission to the inquiry by the former first minister can be published.
The submission accuses his successor, Nicola Sturgeon, of misleading parliament.”
Brace yourselves!
