Don't listen to these scaremongers they are just trying to make you jumpy. All you need is a big tyre to hold the rifle in position and a long lanyard for the trigger :!: Everything will be just fine then :-D :-D

my first reloads, R93 .243 unmoderated shot off fully extended harris model L in long wet grass. gun was previously/initially zeroed the other night (about 1" high with factory federals, 85gn) with TJ and i havent used it since.

85gn spbt, 37gn varget, all weighed.
1st one out was taken with eyes closed and fingers in ears! i also shot a factory federal to see waht that was doing in comparison. it was actually at about 80m, didnt have range finder to check.

85gn spbt, 37gn varget, measured, not weighed, 100m exactly. not sure why that one went high??

85gn hpbt 37gn varget, measured, not weighed, 100m exactly.

interesting to see that the hollow points are hitting higher than the soft points. ideally i want to achieve both of these hitting the same spot from that gun.

comments on a postcard please...... :???:

Good write up, nice to see. As for getting them to hit in the same place...???? Maby OAL's/Powder Gr and the like, don't know. I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Well done anyway. I'm off to do a batch myself. ;)

all i would say bucksden is don't play around to much
as these groupings will get a little tighter with a bit more confidence , just remeber you hav just started to reload ,so apart from the flinch , nerves and expexctations will cause you to open the groupng up while shooting at the range
try relaoding all the same again in bunches of 5 and see what the result is
you may be surprised at the difference
well done for taking the step and also showing us the results
hav fun and keep safe

cheers stone :)

i have 15 factory 55gn ballistic tips and 10 factory 85gn hollow points to use up on live quarry, before i intend to use my reloads, so plenty of time to get things sorted before i hunt with my own

tonight i'm off to throw a few 55's at the ginger ones :-D cubtastik
