Variation for a .308 on the way.
Have eyes on a 101 gti.

Any views based on experience welcome, especially performance with solid copper, given that its 1:11 twist rate.

I have no experience of the Sauer 101 gti but the 100 xta seems a good deal for the money, I believe they’re set up for lead free with the right twist rate.

Would highly recommend a trip to Ivythorne Sporting- lots of different rifle makes in stock and no pressure to buy.

I shoot a tikka .308 with 1:11 and it has quite happily grouped non lead of 120 to 140 grain into about half an inch.

In fact it wasn't really keen on anything above 140gr, lead included.

Currently on Sako powerhead blades 120gr and they are great.

As you are local I will have a look in the safe later at what 308 non lead factory I have sitting about. If I find anything suitable you can have a handful of something to try.
That is very kind of you.
I have not bought the rifle yet, as just got a variation for .308 and this is one of the rifles I am considering.
Do you own one ?

I find the RWS ID CLASSIC 150 GRAIN lead, works great in my 101 and the EVO GREEN non lead is good too. They work well in the 100 too. J

Hi, I have the Alaska Sauer 101 in 30-06. Same twist rate. I've shot the following copper... 150gr Barnes TTSX, 139gr RWS Evo green and 165gr RWS Hit. All sub MOA grouping. I've also used Sako 123gr lead on the range plus 175gn lead. Again, all accurate.
