If payment had been made to a bank account it should be easy enough for them to trace.
That’s what they do.
If I'm not mistaken, PayPal policy won't allow transactions for anything firearms related so it might be a difficult conversation with them if anything goes wrongNote this has to be done with goods and services, not friends and family.
I usually offer to pay a bit extra to convert the fee to the seller.

That's also my understanding, which makes using goods and services null and void as you are breaking their terms anywayIf I'm not mistaken, PayPal policy won't allow transactions for anything firearms related so it might be a difficult conversation with them if anything goes wrong
You're entirely correct if it's a firearm or firearm part. I think they do cover scopes and some other accessories. However, if you pay for buyer protection and try to claim for a firearm transaction not only will they not pay out, they often close your account for breach of terms. If I'm not mistaken, PayPal policy won't allow transactions for anything firearms related so it might be a difficult conversation with them if anything goes wrong

Dear users, I've paid £1000 to bank account user: outinthefield - Tom Russell - Olivia Miller for thermal sight, it was 15th of November and still did not get item. He plays a game with me and he promises every day to bring me item to my address but it will never happen. I asked many times for refund my payment but now I know he is scammer.

I've never had a problem getting money back from PayPal, so long as you've actually stuck to their terms and conditions. Lots of shooting equipment doesn't fall under their permitted use terms. If only it was that easy getting your money back via PayPal, it’s not, I know.
