Scope Mounts

Do not touch with a barge pole. Pile of junk. Put a huge crimp into my Nightforce. So much for precision engineering.
Ive had a set for about 7 years now, amongst the best I've seen and certainly the best by far I've ever had, great service and had mine made specially for a Swarovski Nova, I'd recommend them highly and given the chance I'd buy them again.
How, without over tightening a scope into the wrong sized rings can someone put a "huge crimp" in a Nightforce Scope considering how robust they're meant to be?

Second the above. TIER ONE are fantastic gear. I have several sets and never damaged a scope/rail.
I don't know how you can damage a scope without making a catastrophic error. Some people aren't meant for diy :-|

What’s everyone’s views on scope mounts/ bases &rings? What brands are everyone using?
Sportsmatch has a good range, made in the UK, for sensible money, and offers a solution for most mounting issues. Their rings have served me well, some have been fitted on my rifles for more than 10 years, and once fitted have caused no issues.
I also use some Warne QD Maxima rings - much more expensive, also excellent.

I use optilock rings and bases on my Sako rifles, never had a problem with them. When I ran a picatinny rail on a previous rifle, I managed to source a set of TPS rings from the USA, don't know if they still exist but they were very well made and super quality for the money.

DNZ Gamereapers get my vote for most applications. Lightweight (aluminium) bespoke to make and model of rifle. They rely on really long scope ring screws which obviously have much more contact to maintain tightness. I’ve had mine on both my 10/22 and T3 since 2015. I check them periodically with a FAT wrench and they have never shifted (no loctite used either). They can be a pain to get in the UK, but sometimes come up on eBay or sites like this. Price is approx £50-75 depending on model.
