Scope options for 300-1000 yard target shooting?

I’ve found that, on cheap (er) scopes, it is not the glass that is the compromise

It is the quality, precision and repeatability of the turrets

I would go for

1. FFP
2. No more than ‘x’ to 25 power mag (even 25 is not really required - even out past 1000m it isn’t necessary to dial more than 16 to 20 power
3. Zero stop ballistic turret
4. Mills rather than MOA - but that is a personal choice
5. Reticle that allows quick measured adjustment for wind (rather than dialling) - the ‘Christmas tree’ type for example

Lots of good alternative makes out there

If buying a second hand scope of a make, the quality of which, you are unsure - I’d want to ‘box the scope’ before buying ( I don’t mean wrapping it up for postage 😇)

My personal preference is for the PM 11 or the Leupold 5HD 5-25

There are, however, plenty of makes that would work at half the price

I read that the Arken gen ii has a very unforgiving eye box, so I’m leaning more towards the Delta.
Where did you read that? I've been trying to find out about the Arken and most of the comparisons with other scopes that I have read seemed to be saying that it had a less fussy eyebox by comparison. Most of what I have read about the Delta Stryker HD also says it has a very unfussy eyebox.

It was online, can t remember the exact website or review but it did mention it as being fussy. However that is all objective of course.
