I’ve found that, on cheap (er) scopes, it is not the glass that is the compromise
It is the quality, precision and repeatability of the turrets
I would go for
1. FFP
2. No more than ‘x’ to 25 power mag (even 25 is not really required - even out past 1000m it isn’t necessary to dial more than 16 to 20 power
3. Zero stop ballistic turret
4. Mills rather than MOA - but that is a personal choice
5. Reticle that allows quick measured adjustment for wind (rather than dialling) - the ‘Christmas tree’ type for example
Lots of good alternative makes out there
If buying a second hand scope of a make, the quality of which, you are unsure - I’d want to ‘box the scope’ before buying ( I don’t mean wrapping it up for postage
)
My personal preference is for the PM 11 or the Leupold 5HD 5-25
