Scope recommendations

I’m currently running a hawke endurance 6-24x50 mil dot and have a pard nv007. Now I’d like a better quality scope and reticle is quite thick and the mil-dot is quite big when using the pard. I’d love a nightforce but there isn’t enough money in the pot. I’m liking the vortex but What experience with different makes do people have?
Yes I’ve read some other threads.

Vortex arnt great with add ons. If using a 007 is high on your priority then you may be out of the frying pan into the fire by getting a vortex.
What would you recommend? It’s on my 22.250 for foxing so needs to be good with the pard. Only other thing is if new hik alpex is really impressive I’ll look at that but I do like glass.

If you want to run a PARD, Hawke is still the best choice.

Swap it off for a 4-16×50 SF and be happy, either that or get a Delta (Bushnell Elite rebrand). Even a 3-9x40 Hawke AO could work.

Most of the big name scopes are either very poor with PARD007's due to the glass/lens arrangement, or their ocular bells are near the same size as the objective! Unless you have the latest 007SP you'll be smacking the bolt handle into the unit.

Nightforce NXS and ATAC-R have the stupid feature of the ocular rotating when you change scope magnification settings. So your scope becomes a fixed power with the PARD fitted.

I’m using an Element Optics Titan 5-25x56 FFP with the Vulpine Mk3 on a 22-250, they work absolutely brilliantly together, I have also tried my Pard on it and that also works just as it should. However, the Vulpine is streets ahead of the Pard for image quality and ease of use.
I tried the Pard in daylight on a Hawke Sidewinder on my 17HMR but just couldn’t see the target clearly enough (A4 white paper at 100yds) to check zero. The Vulpine has no such problem.
The reticle on the Titan is very fine at lowest mag but is really crisp even through the Vulpine, even when the mag is wound up it is still not too thick to use and it stays in focus too.

Edit: I see you are only just down the road from me (Teesside), you are welcome to have a try if you like.

spot on cheers fe

spot on cheers fella. Yeah definitely I’ll wait until new hik alpex has been released have a look with that and then I’ll take you up on that offer if that’s okay mate. Silly not too when your down road

The hawkes usually work well but at 6x you probably are pushing it with the 007 for optimum results , especially if it's a 16mm pard. There is a multitude of suitable scopes about , personally I use a delta , hawke and Bushnell on rimfires with a pard . All work fine. As has been mentioned, a hawke with smaller base mag would be a good start.

I've used an Element Optics Titan, S&B PM2, Eltech, Arken Optics scope with Pard and all work amazing.

Bushnell DMR I've found didn't. Could never get ret & sight picture both focused.

The ret on the Arken lebds itself very well with the Pard, not too fat and not too thin. Element scopexret was a touch too fine and needed a higher base mag for a decent ret size.

Had a Minox Zx5i 3x15x56 on my 22.250 - not crazy money and worked really well with my Pard 007.

Definitely would consider it as a step up in terms of clarity from a Sidewinder - for £400ish it’s quite decent and worth a shout.

Anyone used Vector Optics with a Pard? Ive got a Vector Tourex on my .22 at the moment and looking into the Pard units, ideally dont want to buy another scope just to make the Pard work!

The delta titanium 2.5-15x56 is excellent with NV add on and I happen to have one for sale if you’re interested 😎

got to say it ..... " A deer hunting rifle is better with a thicker reticule ! " Dont judge one on if you can put bullet on bullet on paper . Target shooting yeah get a very fine reticule , the match will be stopped way before the light gets tricky .

Hawkes are hard to beat when using an add on. I had an endurance 4-16x50 with a dot for a ret, using a pard 007 16 mm.

If you have a 16 mm pard then it’s probably more cost effective to sell it and buy a 12 mm version. This should reduce the reticle size.
